May your heart and your spirits
Be lifted up out of sadness;
Knowing your loved one lived well
We always thought she was ageless.

Sadly missed by all who knew her
Witty, sarcastic so dry;
She was a gift to all the family
She would have said don't cry.

Think of her often with fondness
That is all anyone can ask;
As she would have said herself
In heaven whilst I bask!

Don’t search for me in some faraway place.
Don’t look for a smile on a strangers face.
Rather, seek me out in the summers sky
Hear my voice in a curlews cry.

Don’t yearn for me when the year falls around,
Nor see my footprints in fresh tilled ground.
Instead hear my laugh in a tumbling stream
My presence will soothe, in a warm filled dream.

No sadness, tears, no time to grieve.
I live all around, in the air that you breathe

The loss of a loved one
Takes it toll alright;
It leaves a gaping hole
In the middle of the night.

Routine and habits come into play
For some normality to be;
Within your daytime waking hours
It will not last forever-you'll see!

Talking about him will ease the pain
It will feel as if he is still here;
The laughs, the jokes, the memories
All of those will never disappear.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss
I don't know what to do;
But all I know is when I'm bad
All I need is a big hug from you.

People show it in different ways
Some seem to show none at all;
But that's because within their mind
They've put up a big strong wall.

This wall though is unable to stay
It will come down one day;
That is when for the first time
They might have something to say.

Healing at different depths
Is taking place over time;
It's not the same for everyone
Yours will be different to mine.

Still hurting like you wouldn't believe
No words can really explain;
How you manage to stay alive
When really you're in so much pain.

It's so sad I never said Goodbye
The coma never left ;
I hope that he could hear me
Or else I'll be bereft.

He'd been so ill in so much pain
It was a blessed relief;
For us though left behind
All we have left is our grief.

I have just heard about your loss
I'm sorry for your news;
If there's anything you want from me
Just tell me and I'll do.

Later on when all is calm
The funerals over and done;
That is when the emptiness hits
The two of you now are one.

Call me then when you're low
No matter what the time;
We'll talk as long as you like
Till out of the depths you will climb.

Healing takes a long, long time
In fits and starts you know;
As sure as eggs are eggs
Up and down you'll go

I'm so sorry for your loss
