I KEEP six honest serving-men
(They taught me all I knew);
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.
I send them over land and sea,
I send them east and west;
But after they have worked for me,
I give them all a rest.

I let them rest from nine till five,
For I am busy then,
As well as breakfast, lunch, and tea,
For they are hungry men.
But different folk have different views;
I know a person small—
She keeps ten million serving-men,
Who get no rest at all!

She sends'em abroad on her own affairs,
From the second she opens her eyes—
One million Hows, two million Wheres,
And seven million Whys!
Rudyard Kipling

Be careful if they look like crystal
Seeing right through them isn't good;
You'd find your self using them badly
Just because you could.

If you want something cheap and unreliable
Then buy a used car my dear;
For men are certainly very similar
Unless do's and don'ts are all made clear.

Keep the goal posts just where they are
If you get it right it can be a test
Lay them like new tiles;
You'll walk over them for the rest.

There's nothing like a father/ son
They can be so close;
Othertimes it's hard to tell
Which one annoys the most.

A loving dad is the best
You need the strength and pride;
To flex those muscles and kick about
Expand your horizons good and wide.

Here is a poem written by a dad for his son

Now God wanted a football match
And to play it up in heaven
But first he needed players
And select his first eleven.

Georgie Best, big Brian Labone
The legend Dixie Dean
Alan Ball and Bobby Moore
All made it in the team.

He needed one more player
Someone who would be quick
From up above he looked down
And saw Rhys there in his kit.

So Rhys was taken up above
God took him by the hand
To play the game he loved so much
Where sponsorship is banned.

There is no cheating either as
God is the referee
There are no mega wages
And the transfers they are free.

The games are live on telly
You don’t have to subscribe
The players all stay on their feet
‘Cos no one takes a dive.

So Rhys plays now so happily
To the angels in the crowd
And every time he hits the net
They roar his name so loud.

Have fun my little blue boy
You’re safe and in God’s care
‘Till it’s time for me to get my boots
And join you up there.
Stephen Jones for his son Rhys!!

Men play along all their life you see
Football, soccer, motorbikes to name a few;
Us women turn into mums you know
Don't leave it all up to us-so come on you!

Men,Men, they're all the same
They treat relationships like a game;
Games are meant to be won and lost
With the loser always counting the cost.

Men are from Mars they say
It's true they think another way;
Quite often with their anatomy
Not to be confused with astronomy.

The reality is they are all lost
Not sure what manlihood means;
It used to be the hunters and gatherers
Now confusion is all that reigns.

Too much information too much choice
Follow your instincts and your heart;
Don't follow the games and films
Or you will be lost from the start.

Truth, friendship and humor
Is the way to win in love;
So man up and be the real you
And blessings will come down from above.

In amongst the golf balls
Or the rugby scrums;
Somewhere you are searching
For someone like your mum.

You need to prove just who you are
Or that's what you're lead to think;
Not just the outside trappings
It won't be in the drink.

Muscles and sweat are fine in their place
It's the inside person that counts;
The qualities and attributes are indeed
Are what makes the final amount.

You lie the loudest when you lie to yourself.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.. So love
the people who treat you right.. Forget about the
ones who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If
it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life
would be easy, they just promised it would be
worth it.
