How is it that you make my heart sing
That I beam from ear to ear;
You're not supposed to be the one
The one I hold so dear.

We don't fit into the accepted norm
However can we tell;
Not only is this hurting us
But it will break others hearts as well.

This has got to stop I know
But my heart has no ears to hear;
It's like a locomotive steaming through
And plunging on without a care.

Our hearts tell us one thing
Our heads say something else;
