The fresh page, the new leaf
The clean start we all want so much;
This is the year we sort it all out
The year we stop going Dutch.

This year has love written all over
The Mayans have promised an end;
The future looks bright and full of song
My best wish for the future I send.

Another 365 days if we're blessed
May the Lord say "Amen" to that;
Mind you he'd change his mind
If he'd seen you in your Christmas hat.

The cold spells are upon us
Blistery winds and freezing fog;
We can look forward to the New Year
Sitting round a fire of logs.

The freshness comes from this
Blue skies to look forward too;
Bulbs popping up in the garden
We'll have lost weight by then too.

More birthdays and anniversaries
That go with the march of time;
A Happy New Year once again
I'm so glad to know that you're mine.

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in.
A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.

L ’Shanah Tovah! Have a Happy New Year!
May all your prayers come true;
That your family will be happy and well
That love and blessings will not be in lieu.

As the clock chimes twelve we sing and clap;
Sending prayers of unity and peace;
May old friends be there with us always to share
And all our worries steadily decrease.
That good health and wealth will find us
That we're happy every step of the way;
Laughter and smiles, full of joy and enjoy
And that these will lead us to New Years Day.

Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors,
and let each New Year find you a better man.
