It isn't just because we miss him
It isn't just because we're proud;
It's because we love him so very much
We want to shout this out loud.

You were supposed to make it
Back home into our arms;
Back to our loving shelter
Where no one could cause you harm.

We heard you were extremely brave
There were others who needed you;
You just reacted courageously
Just thinking about what you had to do.

We are very proud of you
We miss you so very much;
We long to hear your voice again
We long to feel your touch.

Memories are all we have now
Photos and videos will aid;
The aching in our hearts will never
Disappear and our wish that you had stayed.

We are all so very special
All so very, very unique;
There won't be anybody to fill your boots
The future is looking bleak.

You were indeed a special
A notch above the rest;
We will miss you very much
You were simply the very best

The ones who are still standing
Have a sadness in their eyes;
The eyes that have seen such madness
Their enemies to despise.

Somethings are hard to block
Our thoughts can overwhelm us;
Life carries on but parts of them
Will always bear a cuss.

That if only scenario
Must play over and over again;
Their lives never to be the same
Their old lives never to regain.

They served well and stand tall
The price they've paid so great;
For evil to have been surpressed
To be part of it was their fate.

They came from all around the world
To fight for the rights and freedom;
Not always knowing what's in store
Fighting for which kingdom?

The bully boys who try and take
The world just for their own;
Can only use brute force
To keep the people down.

There's always more of us
Than there ever is of them;
The rulers rule from up above
Not realising we can self discipline.

If left to share and work together
If greed and power would disappear;
Then peace on earth could really reign
There would be no need to rule with fear.

Courage and bravery the watchwords of hell
They are all we seem to hear;
We watch the news with bated breath
Sometimes it's more than we can bear.

Amazing personas each and evryone
They guard our skies and shore;
We will be indebted all our lives
Eternity and forever more.
