Celebrations

I've never felt more proud
Than I do of you today;
The only member of this family
To gain honors in this way.

I know you've got to leave
As your new job's faraway;
You'll take our love with you
Forever and a day!

You will be missed
But at first you will be busy;
Don't work too hard too soon
Or you'll be in a tizzy.

Loving you comes easy
You are so nice to be with;
We love you very much
And we'll see you on the fifth.

Parading round the square
New outfit marching proud;
Bands all in procession
Trumpets playing loud.

Having you as my guardian
Has been amazing don't you see;
That all the things you've taught me
Mean everything to me.

Full of wisdom and kind words
That I'll remember always;
The memories you've given me
Will last me all my days.

The loving kindness is two fold
It also goes both ways;
Remember that on your journey
I'll love you now and always.

Family celebrations we certainly do in style
People come from everywhere some from miles and miles;
The love that's here on this your wedding day
From all of us; look at the camera and smile!

Sad

Grandad I love you
I will miss you when you leave;
I know you're very poorly
I'll wear your heart upon my sleeve.

You've worn Grandmas for as long
As long as I can remember;
I know you want to go to her
As she left you last November.

I've come here to tell you
I hold you in very high esteem;
I'll hug you now Grandad
I'll see you in my dreams.

Thank you to all the family
For all your love and support;
I know it was from your hearts
And not because you ought.

Your kindness at this time of grief
Has taught me something new;
That not only do you care for me
But how much I love you too.

It's the little things that you remember
Cuddles and stories that were told;
Things remind you of those days
Even when you're old.

I've always called you Auntie
You were my mums best friend;
I know that you have loved her
Right to the very end.

Remembering many years ago
When we all lived with you;
How kind and funny you all were
And Uncle Johnny too.

So with much love to the twins
And (Andrea) too;
I just want to tell you Evie
How much I still love you!

Forgiveness

It's been a long time now
Too many years under the bridge;
Time to let go and forget
Much sorrow to acknowledge.

There are things that can't be undone
Words spoken not taken back;
Decades have come and went
Lets get this family back on track.

Many memories we haven't shared
Lots of love gone not given;
Let's come together now
To tell each other all's forgiven.

Letting go is quite hard
But until it's done;
You won't realise the weight
You've been to everyone.

A new beginning
New and fresh and clean;
Try it out
You'll soon see what I mean

Better late than never
Is how the saying goes;
If we don't do this now
Will it ever-who knows?

We get set
Into our funny ways;
I've thought of you though
Pretty much every day.

Our DNA connects us
Whether we like it or not;
So are we gonna sit here
Or gonna take a shot.

Let's start with a hug
And a cup of tea;
Share some of your stories
Here with me.

I'll tell you mine
If you tell me yours;
These stories of ours
Will heal all the sores.

Love can go in circles
It's meant to hug you all;
Sometimes we fall out
get back in-we'll have a ball!
