Within the powerful fairy ring
Amongst the mushroom, toadstools and ferns;
There some of the most important beings
And this you will gradually learn.

They look after our gardens and lawns
Our hedgerows and woods alongside;
The major work is done all around
The forests and undergowth where they hide.

They're best friends with the bumble bees
Who are vital to all living things;
We can't live without them I've been told
The fairies help them as to life our planet does cling.

Fairies are long with the elves
An esoterical sect;
People don't believe in them now
Under 5% I checked.

Seeing is believing is a long held view
But short in wisdom I fear;
As more and more we discover things
Like bacteria held in a tear.

Let's rise above the material world
Look around and see what else there is;
We can't see love but can feel the effects
So to our fairies as around us they whizz.

For those who can see
The evidence is there;
In the garden you can feel
Their presence everywhere.

Peace and harmony in the air
With birds in the trees and song;
The fresh wind breezes
They will be here they won't be long.

They're picking up the acorns
In which to serve their soup;
The buttercups and daisies
And mushrooms by the coup.

The elves are invited too
They're bigger than themselves;
So lots of goodies will be gathered
They empty all the shelves.

The full moon is special
Tonight it is the blue;
They are twice in one month
For the likes of me and you.

I have my very own fairy
She always comes with me;
When I move house she follows
In my garden don't you see.

She helps me whatever way she can
She and her own little family;
They look after all the plants I love
Her name is Emily.
