Music wakes you up
Or you can go to sleep;
It all depends upon the beat
It can also make you weep
I prefer to bounce around
My body comes to life;
I'm not sure all agree on that
Especially the wife.
Relives the tension
Lets the blood flow round;
The kids all run and hide
Or push me to the ground.

The drums stir up the blood;
Differences between them

It can make a tribe go to war

It can make for being mean.

Timing to their sections
Parading for me and you.

They can soothe and put at ease
In waiting rooms whilst we're sat.

It stirs up all our memories
It takes us back in time;
It's linked to our emotions
Feelings in our prime.
The years get well noted
By the music that was heard;
Each decade on it's own
To one that we preferred.
Memories of another time
Where we were and when;
Feelings rising up again
Who did we know back then?
It transports, it transmutes,
It brings back many things;
What it does though most of all
Is make us want to sing..
