I know this may well feel harsh
There's nothing else to do;
Every word I've said
Has sailed over the top of you.

There's none so deaf as don't want to hear
My dear old mother used to say;
So it's now that time of the end
I've got to go away!

It's been great while it lasted
But we've sucked it till it's dry;
Don't ask me anything
I don't know how or why?

There's just no point
It's like waiting for a death;
The time has just come to an end
There's no life left and no breath.

Both our lives are precious
We mustn't waste a minute;
So go get on with yours
I'm off this way-got to split!

Moving on to pastures new
A new place of work I know;
New tasks and responsibilities
My skills I will have to show.

So I leave you comrades
With a smile on my face;
I'm sure I'll bump into you
When I return to base.

Another chapter of my life
Is starting here anew;
The one difference is for me
I'm going to be without you.

You cannot come any further
I'm sorry but it's true;
I don't want or need you anymore
I'm not in love with you.

I'm leaving home now mom and dad
I've got a pad somewhere to call my own
I'll make as much mess as I want;
Somewhere that will be my home.

You've sheltered me for to long now
I've driven you mad over the years
With my dirty socks and messy room
I know mom I've driven you to tears.

So celebrate! Your home is now your own
For things to stay so nice and clean;
Peace and quiet long overdue
No longer feeling like my canteen.

The time has now arrived
I've got to fly the nest;
I'm sorry I can't move everything
I'll be back to get the rest.

Gone - flitted away,
Taken the stars from the night and the sun
From the day!
Gone, and a cloud in my heart.
Alfred Tennyson

I'm moving onto the horizon
I'll follow it forever;
Coming back to you
A possibility-Never!
