As I'm waiting by the phone
Ready to hang on your every word;
My thoughts are about you all the time
It's a few days since I've heard.

It's a sign of the times
You're busy I know;
It's always bad for you
And that you've just got to go.

I try not to fret and worry
Remembering all of your squad;
That all of us wives are in the same boat
Waiting whilst along this road you've trod.

As soon as you're in my arms
Safe and out of harms way;
I'll relax and sleep like a log
Caressed in your arms I'll lay.

That memory lane just waltzes away
Going this way and that;
I'm holding your hand in my memory
Together is where we are at.

Thinking of you is a hobby of mine
It's the most pleasurable thing I do;
Anywhere and everywhere
My heart and mind is full of you.

I thought of you today
I will think of you tomorrow;
As I walk through life
It's from my memories I borrow.

The sadness overwhelms ne
The bitterness does not;
It's just the way of things
But I miss you such a lot.

Long time no see but you are always in my thoughts
and this poem below puts these into better words than I!

You were like a sister to me when no one else cared
You heard me calling when I was in despair
You even held my hand and helped me to face my fear
You take great care of me and let me know your there
Thank you for always been sincere.

Where have all those years gone by
I look at childrens faces;
They're all grown up with children of their own
All living in different places.

You've missed so much when I think of you
You've been gone nearly 25 years;
It's a good job I didn't know back then
Or I would have shed even more tears.

Thinking back to when I heard the news
That you were gone forever;
The letter from the ministry
Just said lost on an endeavour.

Your courage and your beaming smile
Is all I see when I think of you;
I close my eyes and feel your heart
Beating against mine I already knew.
