With a jig and a poke
We'll have a dance;
Dressed all in green
Or maybe we'll prance.

Meat and potatoe pie special
For all our neighbours too;
We'll celebrate the Irish
And wish we were Irish too!

Wearing green, even dyed the beer
Meat and potatoes on the go;
It doesn't matter where you are
There'll be Irish there you know.

For those who are not
We all wish we were;
We're allowed to join in
From then on it's a blur!

Every city, every town they are renowned
Hard workers everyone;
Comedians too from the very top
We love their very bones.

The spirit of the Irish
Is pure joy to behold;
There good luck wishes
Are worth more than pure gold.

The Blarney stone is in them all
Stories dripping from their lips;
How to enjoy a good time
They can give us all their tips.

Leprechauns and shamrocks
With a clover in the treasure;
They're all in with the Guiness
Thrown in for good measure.

A Toast from Ireland:

May you be poor in misfortune
Rich in blessings;
Slow to make enemies
Quick to make friends
But rich or poor,
Quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

""

If only I were Irish
I've said that many times;
I'm glad they let me pretend
When St Patricks bells chime.

All around the world
Large celebrations quickly gather;
Momentum, pace and alcohol
There's nothing that I'd rather.

St Patrick the patron saint of Ireland
We now celebrate with a feast;
All around the world it goes
From the west to the very east.

He was enslaved but then escaped
And did a priest become;
He used the shamrock in his teachings
And that's where it came from.

Festivals and many parades
Take place in all the lands;
From Dublin to New York and back
Celebrations and getting canned.

For the greenest country in the world
The Emerald Isle it's called;
The blessings of St Patrick
Be with you one and all.
