On this worldwide celebration
Of the children of today;
We love them very much
Wishing them well on their way.

A day set aside especially for them
There's nothing better to make you feel good;
So let's celebrate their strength and youth
They'll be wonderful like we knew they would.

Parades and ceremonies mark this event
Parties held around the world-oooh I say;
TV programs especially for them
Lots of good ideas and lots of play.

There's so much for them to learn
So schools play a big part;
With libraries, literacy and sport
Parents love them with all our hearts.

Society needs to provide the organizations
The childhood is what makes the man;
Our examples are vital and our interest too
They need love and nurturing wherever they can.

Children make a house a home
They make us into Moms and Dads;
They teach us patience and love
Lots of laughter as well as drive us mad.

They make us be responsible
To be caring and mature;
They also leave no spare time
But share their love that is pure

May we always show our love
At the highest level;
With patience, and gentle kindness;
Even when they're little devils.

The boundaries are what they learn
To keep them safe from harm;
For them to realise that they are loved
And safe when within our arms

Not bullied and pushed around
And starved of our true love;
They are gifts from God above
He sent them for us to love.

There are many different cultures
There are many different ways;
But the one to hold it together
Is our love for children always.

This day is held around the world
To honor and celebrate;
To hold parties and raise funds
For the children whose world we will create.

Some say
They learn by our behaviour
Or at least that's what we're told;
It creates their morals and their fibre
So say those from the days of old.

Some say
Their souls come from above
To learn just what they need;
Or to put right the karma
From before, a past deed.

Some say
They are so innocent
They must be protected at all cost;
But they need to learn as well
Otherwise all will be lost.

Some say
They don't belong to us
God lends them to us for a while;
We must nurture and instill in them
The right ways and make them smile
