Lover

When I think of you
My heart always skips a beat;
Dates keep me on my toes
You're the lover I wait to meet.

Where and when is flexible
Our secret makes it hot;
The passion is ever rising
Cooling off, this is not.

After all you've been through
You want to wait and see;
If this is going to last
Then tell others you see me.

My soulmate I have found
My heart is blessed with you;
I've never felt so complete before
I am so in love with you.

""

Our love just grew and grew
It came from know not where;
I hadn't thought of anything
Like this, I didn't dare.

You weren't in my criteria
Not even on the list;
Just shows how much I know
We hadn't even kissed.

You worked your way into my heart
I hadn't even seen;
All the lovely things about you
Not knowing you were keen.

Husband

To my ever loving husband
This gets better day by day;
I love you more and more
In every single way.

Two peas in a pod we are
Closer than two coats of paint;
Passionate and caring
Loving without restraint.

Top notch on my bed post
I know I am on yours;
We've got children now
Get a lock on that door?

You could have been a handy man
But now I know you're not;
A gardener might have been
But that's not what you've got.

What is that magic thing
That happens when we touch;
All I know is you're the one
The one I love so much.

Speeding by at the speed of light
The shooting star we saw;
On our first date for us
Standing at the door.

It must have been the wish
We made right at the time;
That I'd be yours as soon as
Soon as you'd be mine.

Friend

You've been my friend since we were three
Going to the local nursery;
School days were being spent together
Halloween at our bewitchery.

Side by side at university
We've seen lots and lots of fun;
You know me so much better
Better than anyone.

My feelings for you are my bond
You will always be my friend;
I'm grateful you're in my life
May our friendship never end.

""

Platonic friendship some say no
They say it cannot be;
Well that's because those people
Haven't met you and me.

Buddies, mates or pals
You can call us what you will;
But our friendship is on a plain
That others just can't fill.

Our lives have been very similar
From the other side of the fence;
Our support for one another
It has just been immense.

Losing a parent when you're young
It's a knowing you shouldn't have;
But we got through this together
Sharing emotions through bereave.

We spilled out our emotions
An understanding like no other;
You, to me my friend
Are like a special brother.

Father

Just a few lines to say
I think about you everyday;
You've always been by my side
Loving me in every way.

Your kindness and your humor
Have been my saving grace;
On many occasion when
I could have lost some face.

You've protected me from angles
I didn't know there were;
I'm so in awe of you, you know
If I was a cat I'd purr.

""

I can't thank you enough
For making me who I am;
If I said I can't, you
Just said Oh Yes you can!

Sometimes tough love
I wasn't a good girl often;
But through your loving ways
Finally my heart has softened.

I will make you proud of me
To make something of my life;
I will bring up my children
Now I am to become a wife.

When you give me away
I'm not really letting go;
I just thought I'd tell you
Just so that you know.

""

Dear Daddy you are my favorite man
I've loved my childhood with you;
I'll get home as often as I can
So that I can share uni things with you.

You've done well since Mom passed away
You've sacrificed a lot for me;
I hope my love for you and my success
Will repay you and I love you eternally.

""

Brother

As for you now look at you all grown up
Whoever would have thought it;
You're now quite a looker boy
When younger you were a little git.

Made my life hell and my friends too
Oh the tricks you played on us;
Telling fibs and winding us up
Then playing innocent-what's all the fuss?

I just wanted to tell you though
How much you mean to me;
We're passing ships in the night
Now you're twenty-three.

""

In times gone by I've hated you
So mad with you I've felt;
Even glad when you were in trouble
Threatened with the belt.

But I've since discovered that
That's not real at all;
I do care and I love you
Thought I'd better say that's all!

""

One brother was bad enough
And then along came another;
The two of you are monsters
But I wouldn't have any other.

I still love you too although
It's a two way love and hate;
It makes for sibling rivalry
Later on you'll both be great.
